What to expect from the training

The training aims to take your understanding beyond intellectual awareness and help you immerse yourself in a process-oriented, experiential approach that fosters deep emotional transformation.

This intensive experiential 4-day online training provides participants with solid grounding in the theory and skills required to work more directly with emotions in psychotherapy. The focus of the program will be both didactic and experiential, learning you how to promote change in core emotional structures. The training combines didactic lectures, video demonstrations, live modeling, supervised skill practice and self-reflection. The supervised real-play skill practice provides participants with the unique opportunity to be therapist, client and observer in small break-out groups.

The training will be conducted in a humanistic learning environment, prioritizing safety to encourage exploration and foster growth.

This training will cover Emotion Theory including emotion assessment, principles of emotional change, and differential interventions based on process and emotion diagnoses. Participants will learn moment-by-moment empathic attunement, how to identify markers of affective/cognitive problems, and the use of experiential methods like chair dialogue between parts of self and imagined significant others.

Please note that this training is for mental health professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists, who have completed their professional training. Students/therapists-in-training are welcome.
