On July 2–3, EFT ARMENIA had the honor of attending the 5th Biennial Conference of the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy, held in Bucharest, Romania and organized by the Institutul de Psihoterapie Experiențială Focalizată pe Emoții.
With more than 500 participants from around the world, this conference had a truly distinctive character compared to the previous four gatherings. It brought together an inspiring and diverse community of practitioners, researchers, and EFT professionals. Particularly meaningful was the presence of colleagues from Gestalt, Person-Centered, and other therapeutic approaches, creating a rich atmosphere of dialogue, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary exchange.
Over the course of two intensive and inspiring days, participants explored the evolution of Emotion-Focused Therapy, its expanding clinical applications, and the personal and professional journeys that shape our work as therapists. With more than 50 presenters and a dynamic scientific program, the conference featured enriching presentations, cutting-edge research, and significant new developments in EFT.
Beyond its academic depth, the conference offered a powerful space for reconnection, reflection, and collective growth within the global EFT community.
In addition, EFT ARMENIA participated in a structured professional discussion with Ladan Safvati, Director of the SoCal Institute, focusing on the application of Emotion-Focused Therapy in the treatment of addictive behaviors and substance use. This dialogue marked an important step toward international collaboration and professional exchange, particularly in advancing EFT within the field of addiction treatment.
For EFT ARMENIA, participation in this global event represents another significant step in strengthening our connection to the international professional network and bringing the newest developments in Emotion-Focused Therapy to Armenia.
